LIGHTWEIGHT PROCESS
Release changes in minutes
The lightweight continuous integration and continuous delivery process redefined corporate change management strategy. This was achieved by introducing new procedures and tools according to DevOps best practices. With this process, teams can deliver changes to production in less than an hour without sacrificing quality.
MICROSERVICES ARCHITECTURE
Deploy 100s of changes in parallel
Companies rely on microservices architecture to “divide and conquer” enterprise complexity. With modern microservices platforms, service mesh, and the right approach to testing, each application and service within the architecture can be released independently. This dramatically increases the total number of changes that an enterprise can deploy in parallel.
CONTINUOUS DEPLOYMENT
Increase reliability and stability
Infrastructure-as-code and immutable infrastructure approaches, coupled with small incremental deployments and DevOps best practices, enable continuous deployment and reduce the number of configuration issues during production deployment by an order of magnitude. Cloud infrastructure and container-based platforms help to further increase reliability and stability.
QUALITY ENGINEERING
Raise quality while lowering risk
Continuous integration and delivery are not possible without a modern approach to quality assurance. Unit testing, functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, and security testing all need to be included in the DevOps pipeline to increase quality. However, while test automation is important, it often results in missed expectations when done in isolation. To realize the full potential benefits, companies should also invest in test data management, environment management, “testing in production”, and other important techniques.
END-TO-END AUTOMATION
Boost development productivity
Automating all stages of the continuous delivery process is the key to achieving high productivity and speed to market while staying compliant with corporate change management policies. From automated builds to automated deployments, continuous delivery platforms help cross-functional teams focus on delivering business value and reducing human errors.
CONTINUOUS EFFICIENCY
Reduce cloud environments cost
After migrating to the cloud, enterprises often discover they’re now paying increased infrastructure costs. The ease of provisioning test environments contributes to these elevated cloud costs. The lightweight continuous delivery process and continuous monitoring of the DevOps pipeline can help drastically reduce infrastructure costs and further increase speed to market.

How does lightweight continuous delivery work?
Most companies undergoing a digital transformation, cloud migration, microservices adoption, and DevOps enablement programs do not realize the full power of end-to-end continuous delivery. Teams tend to stop at automating the continuous integration process and leave their existing change management procedures in place.
Our approach to implementing continuous delivery is to analyze core change management policies, but importantly to also redesign procedures and implement processes from scratch to take advantage of modern tooling and DevOps best practices. As a result, we implement a lightweight pipeline that satisfies the most rigorous change management policies while boosting the time to market by 10x and cutting infrastructure costs in half.
How to measure continuous delivery?
When assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the continuous delivery process, we evaluate a number of metrics. We take the metrics defined in the Accelerate book, and extend them:
- Lead time to change – a time between a code commit and production deployment. In some cases, measuring lead time to change can start from the creation of a requirement or starting of the development process. However, since development speed heavily depends on the complexity of requirements, it is not always possible to do it.
- Deployment frequency – the number of production deployments over a period of time.
- Meantime to restore – how long does it take to roll back to the last stable version in case the deployment went bad.
- Change fail percentage – what percentage of production deployments fail.
- Cost of CICD pipeline execution – how much does it cost to execute a continuous integration, delivery, and deployment for a single change.
Industries
We bring more than 10 years of experience in implementing continuous delivery processes and adopting DevOps best practices for Fortune-1000 enterprises. Together with cloud migration, automation, and microservices architecture adoption, we can achieve a 10x speed to market increase. This is all while raising quality and efficiency in complex enterprise environments with thousands of developers and thousands of applications. We inject our digital-native culture and lead by example to demonstrate the value of DevOps and spread it across the teams in the enterprise.
