Essential functions

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer skilled in NodeJS/Typescript/NestJS with AWS experience to contribute to the development of our backend services.  This is a mission-critical element of our product.  As an engineer, you know which tools you like and which ones you don't. This is your chance to build a tool developers, DevOps and SREs will love to use.  Expect to have lots of impact beyond the service architecture and a seat at the table helping us craft the vision of the company.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or related field
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications or infrastructures
• 8+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security)
• Professionally developed and implemented over the last three or more years with:
• Built REST APIs and other common application architectures using Cloud services
• Built REST APIs and other back-ends in the Node.js runtime
• Backend applications with TypeScript, Nest.js, and Node.js
• Automated unit and integration tests
• Data modeling and architecture in NoSQL environment
• Deep knowledge of software development tools and methodologies and active, hands-on coding and application design experience
• Be self-guided in planning a minimally viable solution and then executing on that plan along with others on the team.
• Develops unit tests and uses version control
• Adheres to coding quality standards
• Steers productive team communication and collaboration on problem solving
• Positively impacts team success by multi-tasking and adapting to priority changes
• Driven to pick-up new tech through research and investigation

Would be a plus

• Experience building AWS cloud-native solutions using AWS SDK, GCP or any other cloud platform
• Have experience with AWS/GCP/Azure automation, Cloud Deployments, Docker/Docker Compose
• You’re a self-starter, work independently, are comfortable with ambiguity, able to articulate your point of view to the team, and love open/honest/critical conversations
• You move fast, are thoughtful, and have a desire to learn and also make others great
• You want to build close relationships with our customers
• You are a fast learner with no religion on architecture/frameworks/languages
• You believe your work is a reflection of you and your team, and therefore it’s got to be great
• You're an amazing written, verbal and visual communicator - you have a mastery of software design principles
